Machining Methods and Guidelines for Gears
Time: 2023-10-07
1. Grinding teeth: IT6~IT4 → IT3, Ra: 0.8~0.2 μ M principle: forming method and unfolding method.
⑴ Forming method for grinding teeth IT6~IT5, Ra: 0.8~0.4 μ m. Grinding with formed grinding wheels results in a higher production rate, lower machining accuracy, and less application of raw gear transmission.

⑵ Gear grinding using the generative method

Grinding teeth with a conical grinding wheel: The cross-sectional tooth shape of the grinding wheel is an imaginary tooth rack, and the workpiece rolls to the right. Use the right side of the grinding wheel to grind the right side of the 1 tooth slot, from the root to the top; Then the workpiece rolls to the left, grinding the left side of the 1st tooth slot with the left side of the grinding wheel, also from the root to the top. When both sides of the 1st tooth slot are completely ground, the grinding wheel automatically retracts from the workpiece, and the workpiece rotates in index. Then, the workpiece rolls to the right again, grinding the 2nd tooth slot. This cycle is repeated until all the teeth are ground.

2. Grinding teeth:
IT7 to IT6, Ra: 1.6 to 0.2 μ Equipment: Gear grinding machine. Grinding agent: abrasive particles: 220 #~240 #, active lubricating oil characteristics: same as honing teeth, can only reduce surface roughness, cannot improve tooth shape accuracy.

Parallel axis grinding method:
1. Process: The grinding wheel is parallel to the axis of the gear being ground. During grinding, the gear being ground drives the grinding wheel to engage in a free meshing motion without side clearance. The gear being ground also undergoes axial reciprocating motion, and the grinding wheel is slightly braked. After a period of time, the grinding wheel and the grinding wheel rotate in reverse to evenly grind the two sides of the teeth.

2. Features: Due to the uneven sliding speed and grinding amount on the tooth surface, the sliding speed and grinding amount on the tooth top and root are high.
Gear transmission with dynamic axis
There are many types of planetary gear transmission, and the performance of different types varies greatly. It is very important to choose the type reasonably based on working conditions. Commonly used are ordinary planetary transmissions composed of sun gears, planetary gears, internal gears, and planetary carriers, planetary gear transmissions with small tooth differences, cycloidal pinwheel transmissions, and harmonic transmissions. Planetary gear transmission is generally composed of parallel shaft gears, which have the characteristics of small size and light weight. The input and output shafts can be in the same straight line. Its application is becoming increasingly widespread.
